Sibelco UK have now re-submitted their controversial plans to quarry for silica sand within Rudheath Lodge Farm which encompasses all of the land between Goostrey Lane, New Platt Lane and the A50.

Over 300 residents objected to the previous planning application which was eventually withdrawn following significant and robust local scrutiny which identified constitutional and legislative errors within the application.

It is crucial that all objections are now re-submitted – all previous objectors have been written to advising them of what they are now required to do.

If your neighbours, friends and family did not object initially, please urge them to do so now.

These plans are  catastrophic for our community!

‘Appropriate grounds’ for objection are in relation to excessive danger and highways concerns in general, the complete lack of any local community benefit, excessive noise, and the health dangers associated with silica sand dust.
