from residents against quarrying action group

This is a significant step forward following the extremely high number of objections submitted alongside the public scrutiny that has successfuly proven that the planning application submitted by Sibelco was both flawed and unlawful.

Sibelco have had no option to accept this to be the case and as a result their planning application will now be invalidated and they will now be required to submit two new planning applications, one to Cheshire East and one to Cheshire West and Chester. It remains to be seen whether all previous objections will also have to be re-submitted and will keep you all updated accordingly as matters progress.

As part of this process Sibelco are required to undertake public consultation events with two planned for next week as per the attached poster. We would urge all interested parties to attend in order that Sibelco continue to witness and accept the significant widespread opposition to their plans.

Please do not be fooled by the pictures on the attachment. If this plan does eventually go ahead there will be no public access to the lake whatsoever and the lake will not even be visible to local residents as it will be surrounded by banking, hedges and trees! In addition it is a fact that silica sand can, is and will continue to be used for fracking, an extremely controversial practice which attracts significant amounts of attention from the media and protest groups alike.
