At the last meeting (15th October 2013), John Irlam resigned from Cranage parish council. In his resignation statement, he said he had always been in favour of providing affordable houses for the people of Cranage and also for providing income for the parish but felt he was now being subjected to undue pressure. He did not like the misinformation put out by the group opposed to the development of the Paddock and also said he had been in business for 40 years and never been accused of lying. He also made a personal attack on one of our group.

Our answer is that we have exerted pressure on the parish council to stop the development but have always tried to present information fairly and have never accused any member of the parish council of lying.
